First and most importantly, we hope this message finds you all safe and healthy as we all navigate truly unprecedented times.
As many may have already heard, the Central-North Central CJSA District has cancelled the 2020 Spring Soccer Season. While we were hoping to get everyone back out on the fields this Spring, this decision is not within the control of the Club, yet is one we fully respect with everything going on today.
Below please find the process the Club will be following with regards to the Spring 2020 Cancelled Season:
All Travel and Rec registrations from Spring will be rolled over to Fall. Any funds paid for Spring registration will carry forward to the Fall Season in our new registration system, so any registrant who registered for Spring will not have to pay for Fall registration.
If your child will not be playing Travel or Rec soccer in the Fall and you would like a refund, please log into League Athletics and choose the drop/withdraw option to request a refund. Refunds will be processed within a week of withdrawing.
PLEASE NOTE: This option should only be used if you will not be registering for Fall 2020 Soccer.
All withdrawl requests to initiate refunds need to be executed by 4/20/20.
If you had booked lodging in Vermont for the VT Tournament in June, you may have received a refund at this time, however please note it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to ensure your reservation has been cancelled. The Club will not be held responsible for any reservations made for Vermont.
It is our intention to open Fall Registration around April 25th. Please be on the lookout for a link to the new registration system and further instructions around registering for Fall 2020 in the new system. As a reminder, birth certificates will need to be uploaded for all players in the new system, so start to locate those if you don't know where they are!
Thank you for your time, patience and support as we all navigate these challenging days. As always please feel free to reach out with any specific questions and be well.
PLEASE READ BELOW FROM OUR REC DIRECTOR, LUIGI GUERRERA:
I wanted to say Thank you for signing up your child for this upcoming season and mention a couple of things:
1.) Volunteers - If you are interested in volunteering please email me. I would like to start preparing for the season and I do not have enough volunteers. Please consider volunteering. Part of the reason why we are able to keep the costs down is because or your sacrifice to the club. Thank you in advance
2.) Dates/Times - etc. Our initial plan of starting the season on 4/20, has been placed on hold until further notice. We follow the guidelines of CJSA (Connecticut Junior Soccer Association). As soon as we hear more, we will keep you posted.
Thank you in advance for your patience and please please consider volunteering your time. I promise you, you won't regret it.
As the continued coverage of Covid-19 (aka Coronavirus) continues to capture headlines, our emails, our public officials, and sporting groups, I am sure that all of your are looking for an update on what this currently means for indoor practices, indoor games, etc for the soccer program, as well as how this may impact the start of the Spring 2020 soccer season.
As of now, we are going to follow the districts lead by allowing practices to continue, as well as games proceed for as long as the kids remain in school. When and if the school system decides to shut the schools down, we will do the same with the soccer program. This also means that any travel teams that were contacted about tryouts this coming weekend will also still be on at the times that were initially shared. Currently, this will happen outside at the High School, and the weather as of now looks to be cooperating.
If you feel uncomfortable sending your player(s) to practices or games, keep them home. They will NOT be penalized for missing practices and/or games. You be the judge of whether you want them there or not.
Now, the biggest best defense that we all have right now against this virus is YOU. Let's keep our kids home from school, as well as from practices and games, if they are sick. We don't want to tell you how to be a parent, but we just want to remind you that if they are not feeling well, or stayed home from school, they should NOT be at our practices or games. The game and practice is not nearly as important as their health, as well as the well being of the team they play on. So, please keep your family and your neighbors family healthy by keeping them home when they don't feel well.
If and when the situation changes in our town with schools, we will reach out to the club again to confirm next steps. If you have any additional questions, please reach out to us through our "Contact Us" section of this website. Thanks, and we hope everyone stays healthy as we navigate around this unfortunate situation.
